Chalker reappointed to California Transportation Commission

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has reappointed John Chalker, 56, of San Diego, to the California Transportation Commission. Chalker has served on the commission since 2005 and currently serves as the managing director for San Diego-based investment advisory firm LM Capital Group.

   Previously, Chalker worked for Merrill Lynch from 1980 to 1995, ending his tenure as vice president and senior financial consultant. From 1972 to 1979, he served in the U.S. Navy as a carrier-based attack pilot. Chalker is a member of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce and the San Diego World Trade Center. Additionally, he is a former member of the Contractors State License Board, where he served as chair from 1996 to1997.

   His appointment to the CTC will take effect on March 1, 2007.

   The CTC is a state government board which allocates construction funds for highway, passenger rail and transit improvements throughout California.
