Champ buys Traxon

Champ Cargosystems, a provider of integrated air cargo applications, has acquired Traxon Europe, a developer of electronic communications services to the air cargo industry.
The deal was agreed to by Champ, and Lufthansa Cargo and Air France, the majority shareholders of Traxon Europe. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“By selling our stake in Traxon to Champ, we are continuing our policy of concentrating on our core business,” said Andreas Otto, executive board member for product and sales at Lufthansa Cargo. “Traxon will remain a major partner of Lufthansa Cargo as a neutral platform and provider of electronic communication solutions.”
The combination of the companies is expected to help accelerate industry initiatives such as e-freight, Cargo 2000 and global customs compliance, said John Johnston, chief executive officer of Champ. Traxon Europe is now a subsidiary of CHAMP and will continue to operate under the Traxon name.
