Chapman Freeborn expands in South America

   Chapman Freeborn has set up a new location in the Buenos Aires offices of Air World Travel, further expanding the air charter company’s presence in the region.
   Company officials have already handled two charter shipments from the area on Boeing 747 freighters. The first job involved 75 tons of printing calibration equipment from multiple origin points in Germany. Before being flown to South America, the numerous shipments were consolidated into one consignment. Chapman’s other notable shipment concerned moving 100 sporting ponies from Buenos Aires to Nigeria.  
   Nicholas Caleri, Chapman’s business development director, runs the new office and will target further growth in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile.
   “Developing new markets, and a focus on building close personal relationships with local clients and airline suppliers, is something Chapman Freeborn has done successfully for the last 40 years,” he said in a statement. “We have been working with charter clients in Argentina for a number of years. In response to increased demand, the time was right for us underline our commitment to this growing market.”
   Chapman first broke into the South American market in 2008, opening an office in Brazil. The company has been slowly expanding its global reach, recently celebrating its first year in Australia, an office opening that made it the only aircraft charter broker to span six continents, according to a press release.
