The barge-mounted Charleston Giant heavy-lift crane is the largest floating crane in the U.S. Southeast according to the South Carolina State Ports Authority. It is operated by Charleston Heavy Lift, and was first commissioned in 2005. The port said it has been instrumental in the movement of oversize and overweight cargo like turbines and generators, cranes and construction components.
