Charterers receive ships

Charterers receive ships    Two publicly traded containership chartering companies reported receiving new containerships in the past week.
   Danaos Corp. said it took delivery of the CMA CGM Rabelais July 2, expanding its operational fleet to 46 containerships aggregating 200,129 TEUs. The ship was built at Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, and has a carrying capacity of 6,500 TEUs. It commenced its 12-year time charter at a fixed charter rate immediately upon delivery.
   Seaspan Corp. said it took delivery of COSCO Indonesia, an 8,500-TEU containership on July 5 from Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. The ship is on charter to COSCO Container Lines Co under a 12-year, fixed-rate time charter. Seaspan has 53 containerships in operation and 16 containerships to be delivered over the next 22 months.
