China/Mideast service adds Dammam call

A China Shipping-CMA CGM operated Far East/Middle East loop has undergone recent rotation changes, American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data has confirmed.

The service, dubbed AMA by China Shipping and CIMEX by CMA CGM, has added a call at Dammam, Saudi Arabia (as reported by maritime consultant Dynamar), and dropped a call at Bandar Abbas, Iran. The revised rotation is now Xingang, Dalian, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Port Kelang, Dammam, Jebel Ali, Khor Fakkan, Port Kelang, Nansha and Xingang.

Other changes on the service include an increase in vessel capacity due to the introduction of two larger vessels, pushing up the capacity offered by 11 percent. The service now operates with six vessels (four from China Shipping and two from CMA CGM) with an average capacity of 6,650 TEUs. COSCO Container Lines, Hyundai Merchant Marine, and ANL take slots on the service, while Emirates Shipping Line, formerly a slot buyer, has left the service.
