China Shipping drops Los Angeles from transpacific loop

   China Shipping Container Lines has dropped Los Angeles as a direct port of call on its weekly transpacific “Asia Pacific Northwest Express” service.

   The last call at Los Angeles for this service was scheduled Saturday.

   The service will now be dedicated to the Pacific Northwest port range.

   The “ANW” service uses five ships averaging 1,950 TEUs and has a revised port rotation of Hong Kong; Yantian; Shanghai; Ningbo; Busan; Vancouver, B.C.; Seattle, Wash.; and back to Hong Kong.

   Norasia Container Lines had taken space on the “ANW” service. but it is unclear whether that agreement remains.
