CHINESE PORT CHARGES RISE

   The Ministry of Communications of China has raised certain port tariffs on cargo destined to the United States and Canada, Maersk Sealand said.

   The Danish carrier said that, effective Jan. 15, terminal handling charges per container at the ports of Dalian, Xingang, Qingdao, Haimen, Ningbo, Nanjing, Wuhan and Zhanjigang will be: $44.74 per 20-foot dry box, $49.57 per 20-foot reefer, $67.71 per 40-foot dry, $73.76 per 40-foot reefer,    $83.43 per 45-foot dry, and $91.90 per 45-foot reefer.
