CHP uncovers $500,000 illegal haul

CHP uncovers $500,000 illegal haul California Highway Patrol officers recovered an estimated $500,000 worth of cargo allegedly stolen by a Sacramento truck driver during deliveries.
   The Sacramento driver, Dwayne Hill, 44, had worked eight years for Roadway Express in West Sacramento. During deliveries to retailers, authorities allege, Hill would hide goods from his load along his route or deposit them at his home.
   Roadway is a division of the Overland Park, Kan.-based YRC Worldwide.
   Members of the CHP Cargo Theft Interdiction Program unit that busted Hill found the driver's home stacked wall-to-wall with alleged stolen goods such as tools, consumer electronics, and clothing. Authorities also found his living room and kitchen furnished with alleged stolen goods such as flat-screen televisions and appliances.
   Hill, who according to CHP officials has a previous conviction for burglary, will face charges including burglary, possession of stolen property, grand theft and a felon in possession of a firearm.
