CII picks new Australian partner

Los Angeles-based freight forwarder Consolidators International, Inc. has selected Gibson Freight as its new partner in Australia.
Thirty-year-old Gibson Freight operates terminals in three of Australia’s largest ports to handle both air and sea containers as well as breakbulk freight. The company owns a fleet of 150 trucks to move cargo throughout the country. Gibson handles about 30 Boeing 747 charters a year.
“Despite being 6,000 miles away, we expect to forge a close relationship with our new partner,” said Julian Keeling, CII’s chief executive officer. “(Australia) is one of the few countries where the U.S. has a favorable balance of trade.”
