CII recognizes industry leaders

CII recognizes industry leaders

The 2008 Connie Awards were presented Monday by the Containerization & Intermodal Institute to Douglas A. Tilden, chairman of Ports America Group, and Ken Bloom, chief executive officer of INTTRA.

      Tilden heads Ports America, which is the largest stevedoring and terminal operating company in the Americas and was recently appointed senior strategic advisor. He began his career in 1969, working for United States Lines.

      At INTTRA Bloom oversees the largest business-to-business e- commerce portal in the ocean container industry.

      Barbara Spector Yeninas, the institute’s executive director, was also presented with a special award from the institute’s board.   

Yeninas was recognized for her 31 years with the organization and her

44 years of involvement in the    shipping and intermodal industry. She is the founder of the Holmdel, N.J.-based communications firm BSY Associates, and has been executive director of CII since 1985.
