The partnership will see CIMC install Globe Tracker technology in manufacturing phase rather than after-market installation.
A subsidiary of the China International Marine Container Co. and Globe Tracker International have expanded an existing partnership to develop tracking, monitoring and remote asset-management services and equipment for the container shipping, trucking, rail and logistics industries.
The partnership will see the subsidiary, CIMC Internet of Mobile Things International Operation and Service Co. (IOMT), become an original equipment manufacturer of Globe Tracker’s tracking, monitoring and remote asset-management solution equipment. CIMC will promote and sell the services and equipment to customers under the CIMC brand.
CIMC physical products include dry bulk and refrigerated containers, tanker containers, trucks, truck trailers, railway cars, and other products that will benefit from global tracking, monitoring and remote asset-management services, the company said. The manufacturer will integrate Globe Tracker’s technology directly in the manufacturing process with the intention of reducing post-production installation costs or implementation of current after-market tracking solutions.
CIMC and Globe Tracker said the move was made to satisfy growing demand for tracking equipment and services.
