CKYH doubles up on Asia/Europe string

   The CKYH Alliance of COSCO, 'K' Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin Shipping is increasing capacity between Europe and Asia, restoring two services that had been combined back in December 2008.

   The CNEU Far East service has been divided into two strings, one concentrating calls in North China, the other in South China.

   With the arrival in Hamburg of the COSCO Africa on May 20 and the COSCO Guangzhou in Hamburg, the two strings trips have been restored.

   The AE-S service will employ eight ships, the AE-N nine ships. Port of Hamburg said they will range in capacity from 8,400 and 10,000 TEU and will be supplied by COSCO and Hanjin.

   Rotation of the AE-North service is Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Singapore, Nansha, Dalian, Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Singapore and Rotterdam.

   Rotation of the AE-South service is Hamburg, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Le Havre, Port Kelang, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Yantian, Port Kelang and Hamburg.

The COSCO Guangzhou will kick off COSCO's new AE-N Asia/Europe service with a call at Hamburg.
