CKYHE outperforms other alliances in TP vessel delays

Data from shipment management software provider CargoSmart finds CKYHE carriers saw no transpacific vessels calls at four key U.S. ports delayed by more than 12 hours, outperforming the other major alliances during the four-week period examined.    Fewer than 13 percent of eastbound transpacific vessel arrivals to four key U.S. container ports were delayed more than 12 hours between Aug. 15 and Sept. 15, according to research from the shipment management software provider CargoSmart.
   The company compared scheduled and actual arrivals for 191 vessels moving from Asia to Long Beach, Seattle, New York/New Jersey and Savannah in the month-long period, according to the company’s monthly Innovating newsletter. Fewer than 3 percent of arrivals at the four ports were delayed more than 24 hours, a sign that key U.S. ports are fluid entering peak season.
   CargoSmart also compared the delays among the four major east-west carrier alliances – 2M, CKYHE, G6, and O3. Of the four, the CKYHE carriers performed the best, with no sailings delayed by more than 12 hours during the month.
   In contrast, all four of the O3 Alliance’s sailings into Long Beach were delayed, while five of its seven into Savannah and thee of its eight into New York/New Jersey were also delayed.
