ClassNK opens offices in Ghana, Iran

ClassNK opens offices in Ghana, Iran    Japanese classification Society Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) will officially open two new offices in Accra, Ghana, and Tehran, Iran, this week.
   ClassNK Chairman and President Noboru Ueda said 'the establishment of the new office in Accra will make it possible to provide more timely and effective service to the Gold Coast region of Western Africa.'   
   Before opening the Accra office, it took at least seven hours for the company's surveyors at the Durban, South African office to arrive on site before they can conduct their surveys and audits.
   The Tehran office 'will not only serve to facilitate ClassNK's ability to accommodate requests for surveys and other services in Iran and neighboring areas but will also be an important base for providing technical services and support shipping companies in the country and beyond,' Ueda said.
