Cloud Logistics integrates Truckstop.com rate index

The integration gives transportation management system provider Cloud Logistics’ users access to lane- and equipment-specific rate benchmark data to incorporate in spot quote decisions.    The web-based transportation management system (TMS) provider Cloud Logistics has integrated a spot market index tool from Truckstop.com into its existing TMS offering, the company said Wednesday.
   The integration will see Cloud Logistics users gain access to Truckstop.com’s RateMate index to see rates paid and posted by brokers and carriers on a lane-specific basis.
   “In a very volatile market, having current, accurate benchmark data readily available is crucial for transportation planners,” comments David Landau, Executive Vice President for Cloud Logistics. “Our customers get the information they need to make the best decisions while tendering or receiving quotes on loads.”
   Transportation planners using the system can access the data through a “benchmark” button in Cloud Logistics’ planning tool, sortable by lane, equipment type and date range.
   Spot quote activity is on the rise, Cloud Logistics said. Users saw an increase in spot market activity of 150 percent in the first half of 2017, according to company data.
