CMA CGM adds ANL to Pacific service

CMA CGM adds ANL to Pacific service

CMA CGM subsidiary Australia National Line will join its parent company’s Asia-U.S. East Coast “Pacific Express” all-water service on Nov. 8.

ANL, which started marketing transpacific services in June, will provide the weekly service under the name “Asia-East Coast America Xpress.” The link has a port rotation of Pusan, Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Hong Kong, Manzanillo (Panama), Port Everglades, Savannah, New York, Norfolk, Kingston (Jamaica), Manzanillo and Pusan.

China Shipping Container Lines, P&O Nedlloyd and Hapag-Lloyd also have space on the all-water East Coast service. The service is operated under a vessel-sharing agreement between CMA CGM, China Shipping Container Lines and P&O Nedlloyd.

The CMA CGM is following a “multiple brand” marketing policy in the transpacific and other trades, like other carrier groups such as CP Ships, A.P. Moller (Maersk Sealand/Safmarine) and the Evergreen group (Evergreen Marine, Lloyd Triestino and Hatsu Marine).

ANL now markets four liner service to and from the U.S.
