CMA CGM-CSAV-CSCL form Asia/Caribbean link    CMA CGM, CSAV and China Shipping will start a service connecting Asia with the Caribbean and the northern coast of Brazil in April, according to a statement from Chilean line CSAV.
   The three lines already collaborate on a service on the same lane, which CMA CGM calls PEX 2, CSAV calls JCS, and China Shipping calls AAE 2. CSAV said the new service will be dubbed JCS 2. It will have a rotation of Port Kelang, Nansha, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Manzanillo (Mexico), Manzanillo (Panama), Kingston, Port of Spain, Suape, Salvador and Port Kelang. It will be operated with 11 vessels (five from CSAV and the other six from CMA CGM and China Shipping) with an average capacity of 4,200 TEUs.
   The existing PEX2-JCS service has a rotation of Chiwan, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Ningbo, Shanghai, Qingdao, Busan, Ensenada, Manzanillo (Mexico), Manzanillo (Panama), Cartagena, Kingston, Caucedo, Puerto Cabello, Port of Spain and Chiwan. According to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data, the service is operated with 11 vessels (five each from CMA CGM and CSAV, and one from China Shipping) with an average capacity of 4,587 TEUs.
   Also, ComPair Data noted Friday that CSAV will slow down a couple of sailings on its Marco Polo service between the Indian Subcontinent and South America in order to omit a sailing in March.
   The service has a rotation of Itajai, Santos, Paranagua, Rio Grande, Cape Town, Durban, Jebel Ali, Bandar Abbas, Karachi, Mumbai, Durban and Itajai. The service will skip its March 28 sailing and also drop a second call at Bandar Abbas westbound. ' Eric Johnson
