CMA CGM, Delmas join transpacific loop

French ocean carrier CMA CGM and its subsidiary line Delmas will begin purchasing slots on the transpacific CEN loop, on which COSCO and CSCL provide vessels.    Ocean carrier CMA CGM and its subsidiary line Delmas will begin purchasing slots on the transpacific CEN loop, dubbing it the Northwest Express (NWX), with the Nov. 26 sailing of the COSCO Pacific from Xingang, according to their most recent online service schedules.
   COSCO and CSCL provide vessels for the service, on which Evergreen Line, Yang Ming, Hanjin, “K” Line and Wan Hai also participate as slot takers.
   The CEN, which has a rotation of Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Prince Rupert, Long Beach, Oakland and Xingang, operates with six vessels with an average capacity of 8,914 TEUs, according to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting.
   COSCO provides five of the vessels and CSCL provides one. 
    According to BlueWater Reporting’s Capacity Report, in the transpacific trade, CMA CGM and Delmas also purchase slots on the dedicated JAS/CALCO-A, operated by MOL and “K” Line; and the MD1/PM1, operated by the CKYHE Alliance, which also includes calls to the Mediterranean.
   The Ocean3 Alliance, which is comprised of CMA CGM, UASC and CSCL, operates three services dedicated to the transpacific trade – the Pearl River Express, the AAC/Bohai and the AAS2/AWS1/Yangtse. The alliance’s Columbus loop also deploys capacity on the transpacific trade in addition to calling the East Coast of North America. CMA CGM’s subsidiary lines also participate on these Ocean3 Alliance loops as slot purchasers.
