CMA CGM launches Baltic Levant Express

The French ocean carrier commenced the weekly Baltic Levant Express, operating between North Europe and the Mediterranean with six vessels.

Ocean carrier CMA CGM commenced the Baltic Levant Express loop between North Europe and the Mediterranean.
The first voyage was scheduled to depart St. Petersburg today with the Viona according to the French carrier’s most recent online service schedules.
The weekly loop operates between St. Petersburg, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Le Havre, Malta, Alexandria, Beirut, Mersin, Aliaga, Valencia, Cartagena (Spain), Tangier, Tilbury, Antwerp, Rotterdam and St. Petersburg.
Six vessels ranging from 1,750 TEUs and 1,850 TEUs operate on the Baltic Levant Express, CMA CGM said.
The Valencia and Cartagena calls allow Spanish citrus and vegetable growers to benefit from new export solutions to Northern Europe.  “Transit times provided are among the best on the market: Cartagena is linked to Tilbury in only 5 days,” CMA CGM said.
Ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting’s Country to Country Transit Analysis by Service tool illustrates only one other fully cellular container shipping service provides direct transits from Cartagena, Spain to Tilbury, which is the Oldenburg-Portugiesische Dampfschiffs-Rhederei’s POSS loop at eight days. The POSS is dedicated to serving trade between North Europe and the Mediterranean with three vessels averaging 394 TEUs, according to BlueWater Reporting.
