CMA CGM launches intra-Med loop

The French ocean carrier commenced the ADRIMED Express, which deploys three vessels that connect Egypt, Malta, Croatia, Italy and Slovenia.

French ocean carrier CMA CGM has launched a new intra-Mediterranean service that directly links ports in the Adriatic Sea and Egypt.
CMA CGM has dubbed the new loop the ADRIMED Express, which has a rotation of Rijeka, Trieste, Venice, Koper, Malta, Damietta, Alexandria, Malta and Rijeka.
CMA CGM’s most recent online services schedules show the loop commenced with the Nov. 29 sailing of the 2,741-TEU AS Cypria from Malta, with the next port of call scheduled to be Rijeka. The loop operates with two other vessels, the 2,741-TEU Cape Mayor and the 3,426-TEU Sagitta. CMA CGM operates all three vessels.
The ADRIMED Express was especially designed for the transportation of perishable goods in reefer containers and offers the best transit times on the market between the Adriatic Sea and Egypt, according to CMA CGM.
The carrier also said that from its hub in Malta, efficient transshipment connections are offered to worldwide markets, and from the ports of Koper and Rijeka, it provides a wide range of intermodal services.
