CMA CGM reportedly eyeing Indian logistics firm Adani

CMA CGM reportedly eyeing Indian logistics firm Adani France’s CMA CGM is a couple of months away from buying a 26-percent equity stake in Adani Logistics, part of India’s Adani Group, reports The Economic Times of India.
   Adani Logistics has a Category 1 license to run container trains across India, and its parent has recently built an inland railway container terminal at Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone, due to start operations in October.
   The demand for rail freight services in India is set to take off in the coming years following news of major port projects such as the Chennai Port Trust’s plans for a $762 million deepwater container terminal capable of handling 13,000-TEU to 15,000-TEU ships.
