CMA CGM reshuffles Far East/Mexico/Central America service

   CMA CGM has reshuffled its Pacific East Coast Express 2 Service (PEX2), which links the Far East with Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

   From Aug. 29, CMA CGM will run its own PEX 2 weekly service independently, with eight vessels of 3,000 to 3,500 TEU capacities.

   The new PEX 2 service will include three additional ports of call, offering direct coverage of key markets of Central America through weekly calls from Asia to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.

   The new PEX 2 rotation will be Shanghai; Chiwan; Hong Kong; Keelung; Pusan; Ensenada; Manzanillo, Mexico; Manzanillo, Panama; Kingston; Caucedo; San Juan; Puerto Cabello; Manzanillo, Panama; and Shanghai.

   China Shipping was the former partner on the PEX 2. CSCL called it AAE 2 and provided one ship of 4,051 TEUs.
