CMA CGM starting Miami-Central America service
CMA CGM said Thursday it will launch a new weekly service between Miami and Central America on January 25.
The new 'Maya Express' service will use one vessel with a capacity of 300 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) and will have a port rotation of Miami, Santo Tomas (Guatemala) and Puerto Cortes (Honduras).
CMA CGM said customers can do business for El Salvador and Nicaragua via inland intermodal service.
'This new service is the first step for CMA CGM Group in a key and highly competitive market and it confirms our expansion strategy in the Caribbean and Central America,' said Laurent Falgui're, deputy vice president for the Caribbean and Latin America.
