CMA CGM to resume Europe/Haiti calls

CMA CGM to resume Europe/Haiti calls

French liner carrier CMA CGM will resume a service linking Europe to Haiti in mid-March, according to research from American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data.

The line's ECS service, on which Hapag-Lloyd, Hamburg S'd, Zim and Maruba are slot buyers, is scheduled to begin calling at Port-au-Prince on March 15 on a fortnightly basis, according to ComPair Data.

Calls to Port-au-Prince on the weekly ECS were halted after the devastating earthquake that rocked Haiti, and damaged the country's largest seaport.

The ECS has a rotation of Rotterdam, Tilbury, Hamburg, Antwerp, Le Havre, Kingston, Port-au-Prince, Cartagena, Santo Tomas de Castilla, Puerto Cortes, Moin Bay, Kingston and Rotterdam.

Earlier this week, CMA CGM said it was resuming a feeder service between Kingston and Port-au-Prince, and indicated at the time that it would soon resume service to Port-au-Prince from Europe.
