CN acquires Great Lakes bulk steel transportation assets
Canadian National Railway Co. has finalized the acquisition of Great Lakes Transportation LLC. Under the deal, CN added two Midwest railroads and a switching company serving the steel industry, as well as a fleet of Great Lakes bulk vessels for $380 million.
CN said it is subcontracting with Keystone Shipping Co., Bala Cynwyd, Pa., to crew and operate the ships.
