Coal trader buys Colombian barge company
Mercuria Energy Trading said Wednesday it has acquired a river barge business in Colombia from Argos.
The barges will be used to transport coal and other commodities along the Magdalena River. The Geneva-based company said improving river transport would allow it to grow its coal business in Colombia.
Mercuria also opened a trading office in Bogota.
