Coast Guard closes New Orleans bridge struck by towboat

The U.S. Coast Guard has closed the Florida Avenue Bridge in New Orleans to vehicular and train traffic after a towboat struck an approach to the bridge.

The towboat 'Trey Deloach,' owned by Delaware Marine Operators Inc., was pushing three empty barges when the incident occurred. One barge, owned by Kirby Inland Marine Inc., partially blocked the westbound vehicular approach to the bridge, the Coast Guard said in a statement.

No injuries or pollution were reported, the Coast Guard said.
