Companies study auto ports in India

India's largest automaker Maruti Udyog and Japan's Suzuki are studying building dedicated facilities for handling automobile exports in Hazira and Kandla, respectively, reports the newspaper Indian Express.

   The newspaper said annual auto exports from India are expected to exceed 400,000 in 2009-2010. It said Nissan has decided to join Renault and Mahindra to set up a joint production facility to manufacture and export 200,000 cars while Suzuki and Maruti are gearing up to export another 200,000 cars to Europe from the second half of 2008.
