CON-WAY MAKES MANAGEMENT CHANGES AT REGIONAL UNITS    Con-Way Transportation Services Inc. has promoted Douglas W. Stotlar to chief financial officer and has named David McClimon as president and chief executive officer of Con-Way Central Express, replacing Richard V. Palazzo, who plans to retire.
   Stotlar will retain his title as executive vice president of the subsidiary of Palo Alto, Calif.-based CNF Inc. As the company’s senior operations manager, he will also retain his responsibilities for information management systems, strategic planning, maintenance and construction, as well as safety and regulatory compliance.
   Stotlar, 41, joined Con-Way in 1985. Prior to being named executive vice president, operations in 1999, he served 18 months as vice president, operations for Con-Way Transportation Services. He previously was general manager of con-Way NOW, directing the company's startup and growth in time-definite ground expedited service.
   McClimon, a 25-year veteran of the freight and transportation industry, has been president and chief executive officer of Con-Way Western Express (CWX) since 2000. He started with Con-Way Central Express in 183, and was CCX's vice president of sales from 1997 to 2000. He also served as vice president of national sales for Con-Way Transportation Services from 1993 to 1997.
   Palazzo started his 40-year career at CNF with Consolidated Freightways in 1982. He served as president and CEO of CWX since 1997, and as director of operations for CCX from 1982 to 1997.
   John Labrie, vice president of operations for CWX, has been appointed as McClimon's replacement as president and CEO. He joined CCX in 1990 and transferred to CWX in 1995.
   In addition, Kacey R. Fallert has been promoted to vice president, operations for CWX.
   Fallert, an 18-year industry veteran, joined the company in 1990 and served most recently as a region manager.
   Con-Way is a subsidiary of Palo Alto-based CNF Inc. a $4.9 billion management company or global supply chain services.
