'Chennai port has been facing a heavy import inventory situation on the terminal premises for the last two weeks,' the notice said. 'In an effort to clear the import backlog at the port, several trucks have been diverted for clearing import units. As a result, exporters have not been able to organize enough trucks to move their export cargo into the terminal. While we are working closely with concerned stakeholders to resolve the issue, the situation has impacted port users, with all export and import activities severely affected.'
