CONTERM STARTS SECOND DIRECT SERVICE TO GUATEMALA CITY

Conterm Consolidation Services has started a second direct consolidation service from North American to Guatemala City.

The non-vessel-operating common carrier subsidiary of the NACA Logistics Group said “steady volumes” to Guatemala in recent months have been enough to support two scheduled consolidation services every week.

The services, which load in Miami, offer local cutoffs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. From Miami, the transit times to Guatemala City are five and seven days. Both services are routed via Puerto Barrios, on the northeastern coast of Guatemala. In Guatemala, Conterm is represented by Antwerp-based Ecu Line de Guatemala.

“The second weekly service shortens transit times by a few days from the Gulf but also gives customers in the Gulf and Southeast the flexibility to choose from two weekly cutoffs for their cargo to Guatemala,” the company said.
