Continental, American post cargo increases in August
American Airlines and Continental Airlines both posted increases in cargo volumes for the month of August.
Continental carried 87.7 million cargo revenue ton-miles, up 8.6 percent compared to 80.8 million cargo revenue ton-miles in the same month last year.
American flew 179.5 million system cargo ton-miles (international and domestic) in August, a 2.7 percent increase from 174.7 million system cargo ton-miles.
After eight months, American’s system cargo ton-miles are up marginally by 0.1 percent to 1.45 billion system cargo ton-miles while Continental has moved 703.7 million revenue ton-miles, up 6.3 percent from 662 million revenue ton-miles in the same period a year ago.
