Corps to conduct Long Beach terminal redevelopment study

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, with help from the Port of Long Beach, said it plans to develop a draft environmental impact report for the redevelopment of a container terminal.

The agency received an application to dredge and reconfigure two existing container terminals for the construction of a new 342-acre terminal at the California port of Long Beach.

The terminal project involves the redevelopment of 272 acres of existing land, Piers D, E, and F, and the placement of dredged material in open water to create 70 acres of new land.
