Corpus Christi Æ10 volume up 5.6 million tons    The Texas port of Corpus Christi boosted its cargo volume in 2010 by 5.6 million tons over 2009 figures.
   The port's 2010 end-of-the-year cargo report showed 82.2 million tons. 'As the port monitors the cargo reports frequently, the increase on tonnage for 2010 indicates to us that our region is slowly rebounding from the 2009 worldwide recession and the port is also positioning itself to have an even better 2011,' said John LaRue, executive director, in a statement Thursday.
   Although all major divisions showed an increase in tonnage, commodities such as bulk grain, liquid bulk and petroleum experienced the biggest increases over last year.
