COSCO adds Nansha to transpacific loop

COSCO Container Lines today added the Port of Nansha, on the western side of the Pearl River Delta, to its weekly transpacific SEA service.

The SEA uses five 7,455-TEU ships and has a revised port rotation of: Ningbo, Xiamen, Nansha, Hong Kong, Yantian, Long Beach, Oakland and back to Ningbo. Hanjin Shipping takes slots on the SEA.

Global port operator COSCO Pacific is part of a joint venture developing a second 4.2-million-TEU container terminal at Nansha, due to start operations later this year.
