COSCO RUNS DEDICATED INTERMODAL TRAINS IN CHINA
COSCO Logistics Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of the China Ocean Shipping Co. group, said that it has introduced unit trains dedicated to carrying containers between Zhengzhou and Qingdao.
“Loaded at the eastern Zhengzhou railway station, the cargo is given a complete train-to-ship transport with a one-stop payment and customs clearance service,” COSCO said.
COSCO reported that its intermodal volume has increased because of the operation of dedicated trains. The number of container movements of COSCO Logistics in the first half of this year is close to the yearly volume for 2001, it said.
