COSCO SETS UP QINGDAO CONTAINER AGENCY COMPANY
The China Ocean Shipping Co. group has set up a container
shipping agency company in Qingdao, northern China.
COSCO Qingdao Container Shipping Agency Co., Ltd. is owned by COSCO Container Lines and
COSCO Container Shipping Agency Co.
COSCO Container Lines is the liner shipping arm of the group.
The Chinese shipping group said that the new organization is an international
shipping agency authorized by China’s ministry of communications.
COSCO Qingdao Container Shipping Agency will handle agency business for COSCO
containerships, including handling procedures of joint inspection, surveys, declarations,
arranging pilotage, docking, loading and unloading, materiel supply, space booking,
issuing bills of lading, settlement of freight accounts, freight rate inquiries, customs
declarations and inspection, warehousing and transshipment.
