COSCO TO JOIN CUSTOMS-TRADE PARTNERSHIP AGAINST TERRORISM

COSCO TO JOIN CUSTOMS-TRADE PARTNERSHIP AGAINST TERRORISM    COSCO North America, the U.S. agent of China Ocean Shipping Co., and Evergreen America Corp., the North America agents for Evergreen, HATSU Marine and Lloyd Triestino, have applied to join the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program.
   COSCO North America said it has set up a team that is working on completing a security questionnaire to send to Customs. The 'Sea Carrier Supply Chain Security Profile Questionnaire' asks carriers to present an overview of their existing security programs.
   Evergreen America Corp. said it has been involved in C-TPAT from the beginning of the process through the World Shipping Council and its participation in the Security Committee.
