COYLE, NEW TIACA PRESIDENT, CALLS FOR SINGLE INDUSTRY VOICE

Larry Coyle, chief executive officer of Coyle Airways and the new president of The International Air Cargo Association, said TIACA must aim to become the “single representative voice” of the air cargo industry.

“I believe that TIACA has a key role to play in helping to make the rules that govern our industry practical, sensible and beneficial to all,” said Coyle speaking at the organization's annual general meeting in Dubai. “We need to get more involved in the industry policy formulation process and become more proactive in giving our industry a better chance to grow by removing some of the barriers that currently restrict it.”

He noted that in the last two years, TIACA has courted the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the European Community and will focus on identifying the international agencies that impact the air cargo business and work to promote the industry, its role and needs.

Coyle's company operates scheduled and charter services to the Commonwealth of Independent States. He will serve a two year term with TIACA.

The association also re-elected two officers, Daniel C. Fernandez, to secretary general, and George Johnson, to treasurer.
