CP Railway’s net income rises 18% in 1st quarter
Canadian Pacific Railway’s first quarter net income increased 18 percent to C$128.6 million ($115.4 million), up from C$108.8 million recorded in the corresponding period last year.
CPR’s operating income improved 1 percent to C$229.3 million ($205.8 million), from C$226.8 million in the first quarter 2006. Revenue increased 2 percent to C$1.09 billion ($978.1 million).
The company said it expects its revenue to increase 4 percent to 6 percent in the remainder of 2007.
