CP strikes tentative deal with Teamsters Canada

Canadian Pacific and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference-Train & Engine tentatively agreed on a one-year renewal of their existing labor agreement.

Class I railway Canadian Pacific (CP) and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference – Train & Engine (TCRC-T&E), which represents about 3,000 Canadian conductors and engineers at CP, have agreed on a one-year renewal of their existing agreement.
The agreement, which is still subject to ratification, provides some improvements to the working conditions for the membership, and further provides an opportunity to address issues with scheduling, fatigue and the current backlog of disputes between the parties, Teamsters Canada said.
The current agreement was set to expire on Dec. 31, 2017, CP said.
