CPB seizes stash of 100,000 fake goods at Oakland port

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents seized more than 100,000 pieces of counterfeit designer merchandise at the Port of Oakland, the agency reported Monday.

The merchandise, bearing designer labels such as Fendi, Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, was hidden among legitimate merchandise in a container aboard the 'Ever Ultra' at the Port of Oakland.

The vessel arrived in Oakland on Feb. 22 from China, and New York City was the final destination of the goods. The fake goods, had they been authentic, would have had a manufacturers suggested value of about $13 million.
