Crowley buys Puerto Rico logistics firm    Crowley Maritime Corp. has acquired Islandwide Air and Ocean and entered an agreement with its sister company, Islandwide Logistics, to provide logistics services including warehouse management, inventory management, pick-and-pack and retail time-sensitive delivery services in Puerto Rico.
   This acquisition and partnership will allow Crowley to offer customers a range of logistics services, including ocean and air transportation, trucking, transportation management and warehouse services in Puerto Rico, Crowley said.
   In addition, Crowley will offer less-than-containerload freight transportation from the U.S. mainland to Puerto Rico from the company’s Miami and Jacksonville, Fla., warehouses, as well as from a new Northeast consolidation center.
   Ayesha Diaz, a former employee of Islandwide Air and Ocean, will serve as manager of Crowley’s new Caribbean logistics unit and will oversee all aspects of the business in Puerto Rico. Diaz will report to Carlos Rice, Crowley’s vice president of supply chain services in Miami.
