Crowley expanding Central America/Gulf service

Crowley expanding Central America/Gulf service Crowley Maritime Corp. will Friday add a third weekly sailing to its service between the Central America 'northern zone' countries — Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and El Salvador — and Gulfport, Miss.
   Crowley has been offering sailings from Gulfport on Tuesdays and Saturdays. When the new schedule takes effect, there will be departures on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
   'Crowley's enhancement of this service is a direct response to customers' need for more shipping options to and from the Northern Zone of Central America,' said Charlie Dominguez, Crowley vice president of sales and marketing. 'This change represents a 22 percent increase in Crowley's weekly capacity for the trade lane, and further demonstrates Crowley's commitment to speed to market through frequent, reliable, ro/ro (roll-on/roll-off) service with fast transits and a choice of gateways — either South Florida or the U.S. Gulf.'
