Crowley Logistics acquires Apparel Transportation, Inc.
Crowley Logistics, a third party logistics provider, has acquired Apparel Transportation, Inc., a Miami-based apparel transportation services provider.
Apparel Transportation provides air, ocean and inland transportation services to apparel and textile customers throughout the United States and Central America. Its services include freight consolidation, air and ocean container loading, warehousing and distribution, pick and pack, freight forwarding and customs brokerage and clearance.
The company also uses a fleet of more than 200 specialized garment-on-hanger aircraft containers.
Crowley Logistics said that its new wholly-owned subsidiary “will continue to operate from its existing headquarters with the same employees, assets and facilities.”
“Working together with Crowley, we will be able to strengthen our position in the Central American apparel industry and utilize additional resources to expand to new markets,” said Leo Del Calvo, president of Apparel Transportation.
Crowley Logistics, headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla., is a subsidiary of Crowley Maritime Corp., and is part of its liner business arm.
