Crowley makes U.S./Virgin Islands peak-season service fixed-day weekly    Crowley Liner Services is upgrading its peak-season U.S./Virgin Islands and Eastern Caribbean service to fixed-day weekly by replacing one of the vessels currently operating on an eight-day sailing pattern.
   The 519-TEU containership “Jade” Tuesday will replace the lift-on/lift-off vessel “Pine Valley,” which has a capacity for 245 TEUs, when it departs Port Everglades before arriving Friday in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
   The “Jade” will join Crowley’s regular 600-TEU vessels, “Sea Gale” and “Sea Cloud,” which depart from Jacksonville on Tuesdays and Port Everglades every Thursday.
   “This will give customers cargo availability Saturday morning and will also allow an earlier arrival to the company’s connecting feeder islands services,” Crowley said in a statement.
   The service makes additional direct calls in St. Croix, Trinidad, Barbados and St. Vincent. Additionally, Crowley provides service to the islands of Anguilla, Montserrat, Nevis, Saba, St. Barts, St. Eustatius, St. John, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Bermuda, Canouan, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Tobago via relay service.
