Crowley moves airport bridges into Puerto Rico

Crowley Maritime Corp. said Wednesday it has completed an unusual move of five airport passenger tunnels into the Port of San Juan.

The group of three-tunnel airport passenger boarding bridges and components were shipped for TransGroup Worldwide Logistics, and will be installed at the new wing of the Luis Mu'oz Mar'n International Airport in Carolina, Puerto Rico.

'Crowley was able to accommodate all of the cargo on a single vessel, further supporting the critical timeline required to upgrade the airport,' Otto said. 'Upon discharge in San Juan, TransGroup's project cargo division has assigned a specialized trucker for the transport of all cargo to the respective gate locations at the airport, delivering a turnkey project logistics solution.'
