Crowley names Cunningham as operations VP, promotes Yunta

   Oakland, Calif. Based Crowley Maritime Corp. has appointed Maureen Cunningham vice president of operations for Crowley's Puerto Rico liner services group, based in Jacksonville, Fla.

   Cunningham was Crowley's director of inland operations, and began her career with the company in 1986. In her new position, she is responsible for all aspects of Crowley's land operation in Jacksonville and Petty Island, N.J. She will report to Rob Grune, senior vice president and general manager for the company's Puerto Rican and Caribbean services.

   In addition, Nelly Yunta has been promoted to general manager Dominican Republic-Haiti for the company's liner services unit.

   Yunta joined the company in 1988 and was most recently regional sales manager for South Florida. In her new role, Yunta will be responsible for the coordination of sales, marketing, and operations activities for Crowley Liner Services’ Dominican Republic and Haiti routes. She will stay in Crowley’s Miami office and will report to John Hourihan, senior vice president and general manager, Latin America services.

   Jose Chirinos assumes Yunta’s former position. Additionally, Bill Wright, area sales manager, will expand his management areas to include Chirinos’ former territories, which included the Gulf, Midwest and north/central Florida. Chris Sloope has been promoted to senior account executive where he will continue to service the north/central Florida territory and will begin managing telesales.

   Crowley Maritime provides liner, logistics, petroleum and marine services domestically and internationally.
