Crowley receives shipment of reefer equipment Crowley Maritime Corp. said Tuesday it has received an initial shipment in an order of more than 4,100 new dry and refrigerated containers, chassis and generator sets.
   Crowley's Jacksonville, Fla. office said its liner services division has begun taking delivery of 929 new 40-foot high-cube reefer containers, 1,453 new 45-foot dry containers, plus 1,453 chassis and 347 generator sets. The equipment will arrive in Jacksonville during the next four months and will be deployed in Crowley's Latin America, Caribbean and Puerto Rico liner services.
   The new equipment is in addition to an order received in 2006 that included nearly 6,000 dry and reefer containers and 40- and 45-foot chassis.
   The carrier noted the containers can be lifted on and off chassis providing flexibility to shippers who use both lift-on/lift-off and roll-on/roll-off Crowley services.
